Surf Fishing

About this time every year, a group of us go down to Garden City, SC for some saltwater surf fishing.  We are basically surf fishing in myrtle beach, but we stay in Garden City so we can fish from the Garden City Pier at night. The trip usually includes about 4 to 6 guys and about 10,000lbs of gear. As good as we get at this type of fishing, we still carry an awful amount of surf fishing equipment. So the time is here and we are debating on how we are going to make the trip to the fishing grounds easier. With 3 coolers, nine to ten rods, 4 tackle boxes, 5 gallon bucket, cast net, knives, a couple of back packs and what ever else needs to go, we are loaded down with equipment on surf fishing carts. Plus in my mind, we have to walk about 5 miles to the area we like to fish. (I think it is less than a mile, but have you seen me, I am no fit athlete.)
Well I received a phone call from one of the guys on possibly buying another surf fishing cart for the trip. The thought of us getting a new cart scares me a little. This will mean that we are going to carry an additional 10,000lbs to the fishing area. I know I am exaggerating a little, but I stress a little. The type of carts we have, to haul the fishing gear, are the Reels on Wheels Utility Cart.
Reels on Wheels? Utility Cart

This is the exact cart we use. The weight capacity on this cart is around 200lbs and it can carry it with no problem. The problem lies with not having some mules to pull it where I want. In all fairness, before I started going on these surf fishing trips, they carried everything by hand and possibly made more than one trip. That does not sound fun to me! But we have these carts and they do the job of carrying all of our crap very well. If you know of a better solution, please let us know. PLEASE let me know! We all have talked about it while pulling these carts to and from the fishing hole, the only way to make it better is if it was motorized. Best of luck with that.

I will give the full report of the trip when we return, god speed on the surf fishing carts.
