Lowrance 5300 GPS
I am constantly upgrading my electronics to keep on the cutting edge of technology from cell phones, computers or my fishing electronics. On my latest fishing vessel, I bought the new Lowrance 5300 GPS package with a built-in GPS+WAAS antenna. This unit has both GPS and sonar capabilities tied up in one display of about 5” diagonal, sunlight-readable, super-high-resolution with 256-colors and a display high-detail 480 x 480 pixel resolution. Having this type of compact display was essential for the amount of room I had on the dash of my pontoon boat. The Lowrance GlobalMap 5300
gives my that flexibility with not having to worry about mounting another antenna for the GPS as well. The new color sonars and GPS are a must for me here on out. Being able to truly know the difference between a tree and fish is not a worry anymore. Before I bought the Lowrance GlobalMap 5300
, the Lowrance x 17 black and white display was only allowing me to go through the motions. Back in the day, I had one quarter of this type of technology at ten times the cost. Check this system out and let me know what you think. If I hit the lottery this week, I will be buying the mack daddy of sonar/GPS units, the Lowrance LCX-113C HD 10.4 inch Screen Color GPS and 200 kHz Sonar System.
